Owning a website is a dream of many web entrepreneurs. Now, if you are fond of the online world and if you want a website of your own, you are at the right place as we are going to discuss the procedure of creating a website. The procedure includes buying domain from Godaddy, hosting from Bluehost and installation of Wordpress.
Domain Registration with Godaddy
First thing to do is go to the official web portal i.e. godaddy[dot]com. You will find a ‘Search’ box in the middle of the webpage using which you need to search for an appropriate domain name that is available for your business.

You can search your domain name under various extensions such as .com, .net, .in, .org, etc. Now, if you do not find a domain name available with a particular extension, godaddy provides you suggestions of the same domain name with different extensions.

If you are lucky enough, you will get your desired domain name available along with your desired extension. If not, you will have to search till you get an available domain name that suits your business along with the extension that you desire.

When you’ve got your domain name, click on ‘Add’ and when its added, you need checkmark ‘Only Domain’ option followed by a click on the ‘Add’ tab below. Next, click on ‘Continue to Checkout’ that is situated on the right. On the next window, you will be asked with ‘What you want to do with your Domain’ and here, you do not have to do anything except clicking on ‘Continue.’

Next, as shown in the picture below, select the ‘term’ for your domain and then click on ‘Proceed to Checkout.’

Next, if you have an account with godaddy, simply Sign and if not, click on ‘Continue’ under New Customers panel. With this, you get into the Billing information page where you need to fill up all the details.

Fill all the blank spaces with the appropriate details.

Scroll down the page to check and fill all the Billing details such as Credit/Debit/Prepaid Card followed by your Credit card number, Security Code, Name on Card and others.

Read the Terms of Service and Registration Agreement documents and then click on ‘Checkout Now’ to conquer your domain.

Installing WordPress on Bluehost
If you are not doing this for the first time, you won’t have any problem using the cPanel hosting of Bluehost. But if you are new to this, follow the guide below.
1. Now, you have not purchased the domain from Bluehost, you have purchased it from godaddy and so you will have to change the NS to Bluehost nameservers which are - ns1.Bluehost.com and ns2.Bluehost.com
2. Once you are done, you can initiate the installation of WordPress on Bluehost hosting. First, enter your domain name and password to login to your Bluehost cPanel account.
3. You will get two site builder scripts - Simple scripts and WordPress. You can use any of the two start installation but it would be simple to use Simple scripts. So, click on ‘Simple scripts’ under BH cPanel of the site builder.

4. Click on ‘WordPress’ which takes you to the Wp install script page where you need to click on ‘Install.’

5. Now, you will be on the Settings of Simple scripts where you have to configure the full WordPress installation on Bluehost.
6. Select the WordPress Version from the drop down menu.
7. You’ve got two options - install Wp with www and without www as prefix. You can better install it without the prefix to have a short name.

8. Next, configure options like WordPress admin login and password while the rest of the changes you can make afterwards in the Settings menu found in the WordPress dashboard. By default, the admin email address will be your Bluehost account email address, the one you used while signup.

9. The next thing to do is install some pre-configures themes and plugins and this you should begin from scratch. Install the theme and plugins that you would like to use.
10. Finally, you need to agree to the license agreement and then click on ‘complete’ and with this, WordPress will be installed and your website will be ready.

Remember to delete comments and sample posts while at the same time change permalinks and make some necessary configurations and settings.
